Description
An excessively high current flowed through the main circuit of a servo amplifier. The LED indicator on the servo amplifier PSM displays '-'. One of the red LEDs (HC1 to HC6) above the 7segment LED is lit, indicating the axis for which the HCAL alarm is detected.

Abnormally high current in the amplifier main circuit: motor or cable short circuit, or failed power transistor.
What to check
- With the power off, disconnect the power cable of the reported axis and the brake cable (to prevent the axis from falling); switch the power back on.
- Code present without the motor: amplifier.
- Code absent: measure the insulation between U, V, W and ground on the robot connection cable and the internal cable, then on the motor; replace the faulty item.
- Note: Never reconnect a suspect motor to a new amplifier without measuring it first: you will burn out the second one.
